Due to the size of the game, accessing game files through joiplay may cause longer load times, however if you are using a new version of joiplay (1.01.430 iirc) there are widespread complaints about performance on this game, all of which can be resolved by using a previous version of joiplay and the renpy plugin.

Unfortunately you'll have to find and download a previous version of joiplay (as an APK) and make sure your auto updates are turned off. I'm not 100% sure if you need a previous version of the Renpy plugin but I used a previous version just to cover all bases. Works just fine for me after this, hopefully it helps.
